April, 2010
It was with great pride that Gilman Park Assisted Living along with attendee, Mayor Alice Norris, of Oregon City, honored Margaret Stuwe as "Volunteer of the Year." This special event was held April 9th, 2010 in which many of Margaret's family and friends attended.
Margaret, a resident of Oregon City, was chosen by Gilman Park as "Volunteer of the Year" because she has diligently picked up the debris along North Clackamas River Road for the past 27 years. She faithfully walks 4 miles every day serving the residents of this road, and her community.
In addition to her beautification service on North Clackamas River Road, Margaret has volunteered over 6500 hours at Willamette Falls Hospital and countless hours at her church.
Mayor Alice Norris and Gilman Park presented her with a special plaque, a new safety vest, and a Maple Tree was planted in her honor at Wesley Lynn Park, in Oregon City. A family photo was presented to Margaret at a later date. Gilman Park honors someone from the Oregon City Community each year.
